AmyBeth and Shaun met on a blind group outing in the fall of 2003. They were both students at Cedarville University, and they had one thing in common. They knew Deb Beruitti, or as she was better know as, Yenta or the Jewish matchmaker. The two went with some friends to see Pirates of the Caribbean, where they quickly found common ground for their love of "witty" pickup lines. It was obvious to both of them that they had found someone special. A few days later, Shaun mustered up the courage to call AmyBeth, and he nervously asked her out for a date. AmyBeth said yes, and the two began going out on dates for the next few months. Many awkward moments and interesting conversations later, the two made their relationship official as boyfriend and girlfriend on February 21, 2004.
In May of 2004, AmyBeth graduated from Cedarville with a degree in Psychology and minor in love. The two started up a long distance relationship that summer while AmyBeth lived with her sister and brother-in-law in Chicago. The two even made trips to visit each other’s families. In the fall, AmyBeth decided to obtain her masters in Christian counseling at Baptist Bible College. Shaun went back to Cedarville, and the two relied heavily on Verizon to keep them in touch. As Shaun began looking for a job post graduation, their relationship took a turn for the "wurst." Shaun took a job driving the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. Shaun graduated from Cedarville University with a marketing major.
During his first rotation of driving the vehicle, Shaun was stationed on the East Coast. Because of this Shaun and AmyBeth were able to see each other more often. On one such visit, Shaun asked Amybeth, "What do you think are the pros and cons of getting engaged?" Which AmyBeth responded to, "YES! YES! YES!" Needless to say AmyBeth was excited, and she eagerly anticipated that shinny moment. The proposal came after a surprise romantic dinner, where Shaun got down on one knee, and he asked his Bahamian beauty to marry him. She said yes, and the wedding plans ensued.
In June, Shaun moved back to New Jersey and took a job with Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Needless to say the happy couple now see much more of each other, and they both want to thank you for joining them in celebrating this exciting occasion with them.
